How to tell your partner what's actually happening

The conversation most women delay. A script-free approach to explaining change without apologising for it.

Most partners aren't unwilling to understand. They're working from a version of menopause that involves hot flushes and a woman a decade older than you.

Three things worth saying

  • What's changed for you, specifically, in plain language
  • What you need less of — noise, decisions, late nights, pressure
  • What you still want, so the conversation isn't only about loss

Pick a moment that isn't 11pm after a bad day. That's it. That's the technique.
